Earlier this week, Career Ready Allegheny brought together educators, workforce leaders, and community partners for the Building Equitable Pathways Conference—a powerful conversation on breaking down barriers and creating real career opportunities for young people.
We are proud to support the incredible work of Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania, where teens recently participated in a six-week mock trial program with the Pittsburgh Legal Diversity & Inclusion Coalition (PLDIC). Through this experience, they learned courtroom procedures, critical thinking, and public speaking—skills that will serve them well in any career.
Amanda, a Program Manager at AHN’s Center for Recovery Medicine, turned to the INSPIRE program to strengthen her leadership skills and better support her Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) teammates. Through INSPIRE, she gained deeper knowledge of CRS training, along with essential tools like motivational interviewing and harm reduction strategies to help individuals on their recovery journeys. The program even covered her course and exam fees, making it a life-changing opportunity. Today, Amanda empowers her team and those in recovery with a compassionate, progress-driven approach.

remarkable resilience and determination since joining our program in January 2023. At just 23 years
old, Tabitha was a single mother navigating the challenges of transitional housing while working to
overcome the lasting impact of domestic violence.
