The Veterans Value Initiative (VVI) honors Western Pennsylvania's veterans by helping them get reconnected to the civilian workforce through job counseling, industry-focused training, and well-paying jobs.
In this endeavor, Partner4Work has connected the efforts of the Tri-County Workforce Investment Board in Butler County, the Westmoreland/Fayette Workforce Investment Board, and the Allegheny Conference on Community Development to serve long-term unemployed veterans. This initiative builds on existing efforts throughout a six-county area to connect veterans to services and programs that will lead to long-term employment and satisfying careers.
For veterans, the advantages are many: VVI focuses on in-demand jobs and industries such as construction, manufacturing, energy, health care, IT, and other technology-related opportunities. All on the job training fees are covered by the Initiative, so no out-of-pocket costs are incurred by the veterans themselves.
For businesses, the benefits range from having access to a large group of pre-screened and well-disciplined employees to getting reimbursed by the Initiative for paid training opportunities.
