4Construction
4Construction is a portfolio of programs designed to put participants on the path to success in the skilled trades. By pairing trusted training providers with active worksites, the program creates hands-on opportunities for learning and growth—ultimately connecting graduates with union pathways.

PIT2Work
PIT2Work is a partnership between Partner4Work, Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT), and the Pittsburgh Gateways Corporation that prepares participants for careers in the construction trades through a high-impact, 6-week pre-apprenticeship program. Hosted on-site at the Terminal Modernization Program (TMP), a landmark $1.4 billion redevelopment project, PIT2Work offers hands-on learning in a real-world environment.

Participants gain exposure to multiple construction trades, connect with union representatives, and earn industry-recognized credentials that prepare them for union apprenticeship programs and future employment. No prior experience is required to apply.

UPMC Toolbox
UPMC Toolbox is a collaboration between Partner4Work, UPMC, and the A. Philip Randolph Institute’s “Breaking the Chains of Poverty” pre-apprenticeship program. Held at the site of UPMC Presbyterian’s $1.5 billion expansion in Oakland, this 8-week training opportunity offers participants direct access to one of the region’s most advanced construction projects.

Participants receive classroom instruction, safety training, and hands-on experience in all phases of construction, from materials manufacturing to on-site installation. The program also provides direct connections to local trade unions, helping trainees find the right career path within the skilled trades. Graduates walk away with multiple industry-recognized certifications and a strong foundation for long-term success in the field.

Build the Beat
Build the Beat is an exciting pre-apprenticeship initiative developed in partnership with Partner4Work, Live Nation, PJ Dick, and Pittsburgh Gateways Corporation. Centered around the construction of Citizen’s LIVE at the Wylie—a new music and entertainment venue in downtown Pittsburgh—the program provides five weeks of immersive training for individuals exploring careers in the skilled trades.

Through a mix of classroom instruction and hands-on learning, participants gain essential construction skills and certifications while developing confidence and career direction. Build the Beat also includes exposure to different trades, safety standards, and key topics like financial literacy. By contributing to a high-profile project that will help energize Pittsburgh’s cultural scene, trainees build meaningful experience and take important steps toward a rewarding future in the trades.
