Pittsburgh Works is proud to present its Employer Talks! series. This series provides the forum for Pittsburgh Works partners and employers to have open dialog about what it takes to get hired in some of the region's most in-demand sectors. These sessions are a perfect opportunity to learn more about in-demand and well-paying occupations, labor market data and trends, and to network with other workforce development professionals!
This is your chance to connect with hiring managers. Learn what it takes to break down barriers and get your job seekers hired! You can also follow Employer Talks! on Twitter and Facebook! We'll be tweeting live from the session using #EmployerTalks. Send us your questions, and we'll post answers!
Did you miss the Employer Talks! session focused on construction?
Hiring managers from McCormack Baron Salazar, Nello Construction and Massaro Corporation discussed immediate and long-term hiring needs. These employers also discussed opportunities for careers in construction for job seekers with limited skills and/or experience, criminal backgrounds, or transportation limitations.
In this video, Dan Bull of Nello Construction discusses the Work Pittsburgh program, an apprenticeship program offered to job seekers with significant barriers to long-term employment. Through Work Pittsburgh, training, transportation and clothing assistance, and wrap-around support services are offered to trainees - all at no cost.
The Pittsburgh Works online community is a place to discuss workforce development topics, find information, and share best practices. Join the conversation!
