MEDIA ADVISORY: Unique college credit model funded by JP Morgan Chase

MEDIA ADVISORY

WHAT: The summer Learn & Earn program, sponsored by Allegheny County, the City of Pittsburgh, and Partner4Work, will showcase a unique college credit model. This model, funded by JP Morgan Chase, the City of Pittsburgh Mayor's Office, and other sponsors, combines an immersive college learning experience, including tutoring, and worksite placement.

Three to four credits are earned in studies in healthcare, tech, business/marketing, education, social justice, the arts, and community service. Students have access to up to five university professors. This has lead to a ninety-five percent pass rate. Showcased at Carlow on July 21 will be the college professor's teaching relationship with the high school students and student feedback on their experiences.

WHO: Professor Beth Zamboni, Carlow University, and Learn & Earn summer youth employment program participants

WHEN: 1 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2022
