EDSI and Project Destiny Partnership

EDSI and Project Destiny

EDSI Pittsburgh recently developed a close partnership through outreach with Project Destiny, a nonprofit organization on the North Side of Pittsburgh, that provides programming and resources to reach, educate, inspire and grow Pittsburgh’s inner-city youth and their families. EDSI is proud of the fact that Project Destiny is one of their first On-the-Job Training contracts signed in this fiscal year. Project Destiny is committed to serving families throughout the Pittsburgh area through their many programs, such as THRIVE18, Youth and Family Engagement, and the Early Learning Centers for children between the ages of 6-weeks and 6 years old. They also provide an Arts Academy for youth. EDSI’s Job Developers connected with Pastor Brenda Gregg, founder of Project Destiny, to help the project meet their hiring needs by discussing employment and on the job training opportunities. One of EDSI’s EARN participants was referred to Project Destiny and applied to serve as their Cultural Consultant. This client was hired and is expected to successfully complete her 90-day probation period within the coming weeks. EDSI Pittsburgh will continue to build on this partnership to connect participants to employment and on-the-job training opportunities. Project Destiny is also interested in regularly sharing information on their service offerings and programs with the clients in EDSI’s EARN and Work Ready programs. EDSI Pittsburgh looks forward to continued collaboration with Project Destiny.
