Adult Program Coordinator

Location: 650 Smithfield Street, Suite 2600, Pittsburgh, PA 15222
Reports to: Director of Adult Workforce Programs


As the leader of Pittsburgh/Allegheny County’s public workforce system, Partner4Work ensures that the current and future needs of businesses and job seekers are met. Through innovative initiatives and programs spanning every facet of the workforce, we bridge the gap between people looking for work and companies in need of talent. The Adult Program Coordinator will support the Director of Adult Workforce Programs in the implementation and oversight of programs related to adult populations. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Project Implementation

Ensure successful outcomes and manage initiatives focused on adult populations including, but not limited to:

  • Veterans’ Value Initiative
  • Training to Work
  • Choice Neighborhood Initiative
  • Dislocated Workers
  • Transitional Jobs

Continually identify challenges and trends among partners and develop technical assistance opportunities in response that can show a measured impact

Draft RFPs and evaluate responses as needed

Prepare and submit contracts and reports as required

Coordinate invoicing with Partner4Work’s fiscal team and funded programs

Engage partners on a regular basis to ensure deliverables are being met according to schedule

Coordinate between diverse partners, including PA CareerLink, community partners, government agencies and multiple workforce development boards.

Partner Cultivation and P4W Ambassador

Develop and cultivate relationships with new and existing partners to assist communities in addressing adult workforce needs using Partner4Work services;

Identify opportunities for growth of the services provided.

Represent Partner4Work at convenings, forums, and conferences.

Contribute to the development of a supportive and collaborative work environment through active participation in internal collaborations, team, and activities; and

Support P4W communications efforts by identifying and creating  content to highlight in communication tools

Provide a high level of customer service for existing and prospective program partners through transparent, accessible, and open dialogue about the organization’s strategy and prospective projects;

Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills required.
  • Ability to develop relationships and effectively collaborate with diverse groups of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to exercise leadership and function as a team member while working collaboratively with others in a complex organizational environment.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and provide informed recommendations appropriately.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to travel locally, as needed.

Education/Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s required.  Master’s preferred.  Workforce development experience is a strong plus. The successful candidate will be expected to have skills necessary to succeed in a high-pace business environment.
