Faith EDSI EARN Success Story

Faith is a 43-year-old dedicated, single mother of two. Faith was referred to EDSI’s EARN Program in June 2022 to help her complete her undergraduate studies and pursue her interest in anesthesiology. After she enrolled in the EARN Program, she decided to meet regularly with EDSI’s Behavior Health Advocate (BHA) to better understand barriers, maladaptive coping behaviors, personal goals, and career goals. Through persistent weekly meetings and encouragement of the BHA, se was introduced to and practiced healthy coping mechanisms, strengthening boundaries, and was encouraged to a greater degree of self-care. Together, Faith and the BHA celebrated many of Faith’s milestones such as purchasing a car, enrolling in a bachelor’s degree program, overcoming negative self-doubt by singing at church, and being active in her school’s work study program. Faith has greatly improved in creating balance in her mental wellness journey since accepting behavioral health services through EDSI’s EARN program.
